Kryptos
Unbreakable Code Lives On: In testament to the various unbreakable codes developed throughout the course of human history, such as the Enigma Code Machine, Navajo Code, and MIT time-lock puzzle, a monument to secrecy called Kryptos was established in the CIA's headquarters in Langley, Virginia. Vexing both professional and amateur codebreakers alike, all but one of this encoded sculpture's sections have been broken. With the first three sections detailing a message even more enigmatic than its predecessor, Kryptos bears 1,735 coded individual letters invented by its genius creator, American artist James Sanborn. A confirmation of the immortality of code's fundamental role in both our personal and societal lives, Kryptos remains unbroken--at least for the time being!
